The essential five

Week 1 Terminology

During this first complete week working on the subject we learned new terms and theory so as the translator of the group, here we defined the most important terms we had studied along the week.

The first important term we saw in class was the concept of learning, defined as the acquisition of knowledge or skills through study or experience. It is not new that when we are talking about academic learning we all think that the only way to learn a subject is studying but there are many other ways, not only memorizing.

Another important term could be the concept of teaching, defined as ideas or principles taught by an authority or the occupation, profession, or work of a teacher. As future teachers our work first of all is to understand what is the meaning of teaching, only when we understand this we can complete our job so that is why it is very important to study this term during the subject.

The concept of education is the most important term from our point of view, we must difference clearly the differences between educate and teach. Is it the work of the teacher to teach manners to the kid ? Or just talk about the school subject… Education is the process of receiving or giving systematic instruction, especially at a school or university. So as teachers we need to create a link with each student to be able to educate, having our own lives structured.

Another important term we study during this first week could be the meaning of the conceptual picture. With this practice we didn't learn only about how to use “genially”, it was useful to think about the space in which we work and if it is clean and tidy or if it is a mess. Being comfortable in our work space is essential for being productive.

Moreover, the complex theory is the study of complexity and of complex systems. It may also refer to complexity theory and organizations, the application of complexity theory to strategy. Computational complexity theory, a field in theoretical computer science and mathematics.

Lastly, it is worth highlighting the term Creative Commons Licenses, which are a free legal tool that allows users to use copyrighted works without asking for permission to the author of the work.
However, if still do not know what they are or have no clue how to create them, I encourage you to visit this page web: https://wall-es.eduhack.eu/ or go to the summary that my collegue Gema did about it: https://wall-es.eduhack.eu/summary-on-my-findings-about-open-licenses/ .

Translating the Task

Good morning to all and welcome to the home stretch! I am Santiago García-Purriños and I will be the translator this week. I will select the five concepts that I consider most important during the development of this task number nine. The first concept that I consider important is the meaning of frameworks, it is a kind of library, a piece of software that provides web developers with a code base and consistent, standardised ways to create web applications. Throughout this task, pedagogical knowledge has also played an important role. Pedagogical knowledge consists of adapting the specialised knowledge of teachers for creating effective teaching. Technological pedagogical content knowledge is a framework for understanding and describing the types of knowledge a teacher needs for effective pedagogical practice in a technology-enhanced learning environment. Education is a field where digital content has become increasingly popular as well as necessary. Professionals in this field are rea...

Curator Post

Hey! This is Juan, this week's curator.  For my weekly post I have gathered and created the APA style references of the different resources used along the week. You will find them in the following mind map I have done. On it, you will also see a slight view at the process of the activity.  Click here to see the mind map in its original website

Star(ing) to the finish line

Hii! It is Gema and Elena, the stars of the last week ☹️ First and foremost, if you would like to check our infography, please click here! Throughout this week, the whole group has pitched in to create an infography about the main competences for the Digital World.  To be honest, the presentation didn't go as bad as we initially thought it was going to be, in fact, we managed to explain all the items and our classmates actually understood it very well, which actually pleased us a lot. Actually, it is nice to leave with a nice memory of this week as we have put plenty of effort to our weekly tasks (not just this one). Just in case you are not familiar with this model we let you here a very brief explanation and reflection about what is it and its importance for teachers. Almost all frameworks emphasize the use of technology, restricted to teaching in the conventional classroom, and the ethical and social aspects only from the legal use of technology or security. After reading the do...
