Ready, Steady, Stars!

Hello everyone,

We are Maria and Cristina, the stars of Task 4 this week. Let us give you a summary of how we went about doing this task.

Firstly, we all had a look through the book and activities before meeting on zoom, so as to have an idea of the different activities. We all met up on zoom and discussed the activities which had most caught our attention and debated the pros and cons of those ones. We narrowed it down to two activities, one being the Ready, Steady, Cook. This task proposed the idea of preparing a typical dish and we thought about the Spanish omelette. Within no time, we were discussing what ingredients we could change or add, and I think some of us were getting hungry just at the thought it. We discussed ingredients from caramelized onion to chocolate, and we finally agreed on our 7 ingredients. We had decided our task and we started to answer the questions given to us in Task 4.

Secondly, we looked into the best way to document the task whether it should be video, photo or a diary. In the end, we agreed that photos were more visual and easy to do for everybody using their tablet or parents phone. As a group, we decided that photos should be taken horizontally and there should 6 clear photos, representing the 6 basic steps for making a Spanish omelette. During the meeting, some members realized that they needed to get to the supermarket to buy some missing ingredients. We all said goodbye and set off on our task of making a Spanish omelette for dinner.

The following day we had another zoom meeting and we chatted about how our cooking experience had gone and whether they were tasty or unexpectedly good. We spent about 15 minutes admiring each other's Spanish omelettes before continuing with our task. During this meeting, we discussed how to present the ideas in the Pecha Kucha and in what order. One group of us were producing the information for each slide on a Google document, others doing their collage to post on the blog, and simultaneously Gema was converting this information into our Pecha Kucha which looked great. The meeting lasted up until lunchtime. Afterwards, we each finished our parts individually.

We were constantly in contact through WhatsApp and sending photos of our tasks.

We throughly enjoyed the experience and we hope you did too.

We will add our video presentation to this entry as soon as possible.

Enjoy!

Translating the Task

Good morning to all and welcome to the home stretch! I am Santiago García-Purriños and I will be the translator this week. I will select the five concepts that I consider most important during the development of this task number nine. The first concept that I consider important is the meaning of frameworks, it is a kind of library, a piece of software that provides web developers with a code base and consistent, standardised ways to create web applications. Throughout this task, pedagogical knowledge has also played an important role. Pedagogical knowledge consists of adapting the specialised knowledge of teachers for creating effective teaching. Technological pedagogical content knowledge is a framework for understanding and describing the types of knowledge a teacher needs for effective pedagogical practice in a technology-enhanced learning environment. Education is a field where digital content has become increasingly popular as well as necessary. Professionals in this field are rea...

Star(ing) to the finish line

Hii! It is Gema and Elena, the stars of the last week ☹️ First and foremost, if you would like to check our infography, please click here! Throughout this week, the whole group has pitched in to create an infography about the main competences for the Digital World.  To be honest, the presentation didn't go as bad as we initially thought it was going to be, in fact, we managed to explain all the items and our classmates actually understood it very well, which actually pleased us a lot. Actually, it is nice to leave with a nice memory of this week as we have put plenty of effort to our weekly tasks (not just this one). Just in case you are not familiar with this model we let you here a very brief explanation and reflection about what is it and its importance for teachers. Almost all frameworks emphasize the use of technology, restricted to teaching in the conventional classroom, and the ethical and social aspects only from the legal use of technology or security. After reading the do...

Task 9 FACILITATOR

Hello! I am Antonio Aznar and on this task 9 I have the role of facilitator, let us commence forth. Regarding the conflict situations this week, there was not a single one, which means that everyone behaved properly and worked hard on the assignment. Regarding the fulfilment of obligations, On this week everyone completed their assigments, furthermore, we worked hard to create the most tedious part which is the infographic, in which each one of us read a different part of the text called Holistic Teaching Competence for a Digital World, I need to say that each on of us make their own resume. In the last part, I will also revise that each one of the roles of this week are well written and well distributed in the blog, that means that I will check each post of the blog in order to check if it is right. -Antonio
