Hello everyone,
We are Maria and Cristina, the stars of Task 4 this week. Let us give you a summary of how we went about doing this task.
Firstly, we all had a look through the book and activities before meeting on zoom, so as to have an idea of the different activities. We all met up on zoom and discussed the activities which had most caught our attention and debated the pros and cons of those ones. We narrowed it down to two activities, one being the Ready, Steady, Cook. This task proposed the idea of preparing a typical dish and we thought about the Spanish omelette. Within no time, we were discussing what ingredients we could change or add, and I think some of us were getting hungry just at the thought it. We discussed ingredients from caramelized onion to chocolate, and we finally agreed on our 7 ingredients. We had decided our task and we started to answer the questions given to us in Task 4.
Secondly, we looked into the best way to document the task whether it should be video, photo or a diary. In the end, we agreed that photos were more visual and easy to do for everybody using their tablet or parents phone. As a group, we decided that photos should be taken horizontally and there should 6 clear photos, representing the 6 basic steps for making a Spanish omelette. During the meeting, some members realized that they needed to get to the supermarket to buy some missing ingredients. We all said goodbye and set off on our task of making a Spanish omelette for dinner.
The following day we had another zoom meeting and we chatted about how our cooking experience had gone and whether they were tasty or unexpectedly good. We spent about 15 minutes admiring each other's Spanish omelettes before continuing with our task. During this meeting, we discussed how to present the ideas in the Pecha Kucha and in what order. One group of us were producing the information for each slide on a Google document, others doing their collage to post on the blog, and simultaneously Gema was converting this information into our Pecha Kucha which looked great. The meeting lasted up until lunchtime. Afterwards, we each finished our parts individually.
We were constantly in contact through WhatsApp and sending photos of our tasks.
We throughly enjoyed the experience and we hope you did too.
We will add our video presentation to this entry as soon as possible.
Enjoy!
