Prezi & ethics

 Hi everyone!

In this week's task we all have to choose a different ICT tool useful for a primary classroom, and review it using two different materials.

Personally, I chose Prezi an online website in order to create amusing as well as original presentations.

If you would like to check my review on Prezi, please, click here!

All in all, I wholeheartedly believe that Prezi is an app which is up to scratch in order to achieve certain learning outcomes. As a matter of fact, the option to design multimedia presentations will engage students and encourage them to create beyond just dropping images and text into slide after slide. What is more, on the teacher's side, the ability to really zoom in to specific content can be a powerful visual reminder of a lesson's most important points. On the flip side, should you like to incorporate some audio, you will need to include it at individual steps on a Prezi path, and you can loop a musical track, but you'll need a workaround. Moreover, slow load times for larger images and videos make the online version a poor choice for wireless connections.

In light of all the above, I strongly recommend Prezi as a teaching as well as learning tool, not only on account of its functionality and its ease of use; but also since  when it comes to actually engaging students in learning in a real classroom, it completely fulfills its job by taking external, unknown knowledge (i.e. the periodic table) and incorporating it into their day to day lives (for instance, why the shampoo makes bubbles when they wash their hair).

Translating the Task

Good morning to all and welcome to the home stretch! I am Santiago García-Purriños and I will be the translator this week. I will select the five concepts that I consider most important during the development of this task number nine. The first concept that I consider important is the meaning of frameworks, it is a kind of library, a piece of software that provides web developers with a code base and consistent, standardised ways to create web applications. Throughout this task, pedagogical knowledge has also played an important role. Pedagogical knowledge consists of adapting the specialised knowledge of teachers for creating effective teaching. Technological pedagogical content knowledge is a framework for understanding and describing the types of knowledge a teacher needs for effective pedagogical practice in a technology-enhanced learning environment. Education is a field where digital content has become increasingly popular as well as necessary. Professionals in this field are rea...

Curator Post

Hey! This is Juan, this week's curator.  For my weekly post I have gathered and created the APA style references of the different resources used along the week. You will find them in the following mind map I have done. On it, you will also see a slight view at the process of the activity.  Click here to see the mind map in its original website

Star(ing) to the finish line

Hii! It is Gema and Elena, the stars of the last week ☹️ First and foremost, if you would like to check our infography, please click here! Throughout this week, the whole group has pitched in to create an infography about the main competences for the Digital World.  To be honest, the presentation didn't go as bad as we initially thought it was going to be, in fact, we managed to explain all the items and our classmates actually understood it very well, which actually pleased us a lot. Actually, it is nice to leave with a nice memory of this week as we have put plenty of effort to our weekly tasks (not just this one). Just in case you are not familiar with this model we let you here a very brief explanation and reflection about what is it and its importance for teachers. Almost all frameworks emphasize the use of technology, restricted to teaching in the conventional classroom, and the ethical and social aspects only from the legal use of technology or security. After reading the do...
