Tune into Tic-chers in Progress

Hello everyone,

We are Gema and Cristina and we are the stars this week for task 7.

It has been an enjoyable task as we were able to try out coding for ourselves using fun activities on the Hour of Code website. There was dancing, cartoon characters and even one activity which didn't even require any electronic devices. Surprised? So were we.

This task gave us the opportunity to put ourselves in the students shoes and experience coding for ourselves. Initially, we were a bit apprehensive about coding and weren't really sure about where to begin, but we soon got to grips with it and suddenly we were coding away and watching how we could manipulate the animated characters. It was great fun and we certainly had a few giggles along the way.

Following our initial investigation, we had to put together a radio program, preferably live, whereby we could transmit everything we had learnt from trying out these coding activities for kids. It took quite some time to organize the information and decide how to put it together. Finally, we were ready...we did our live radio program and it was a great experience.

Here you can listen to our Radio Program. Stay tuned for more updates!

Translating the Task

Good morning to all and welcome to the home stretch! I am Santiago García-Purriños and I will be the translator this week. I will select the five concepts that I consider most important during the development of this task number nine. The first concept that I consider important is the meaning of frameworks, it is a kind of library, a piece of software that provides web developers with a code base and consistent, standardised ways to create web applications. Throughout this task, pedagogical knowledge has also played an important role. Pedagogical knowledge consists of adapting the specialised knowledge of teachers for creating effective teaching. Technological pedagogical content knowledge is a framework for understanding and describing the types of knowledge a teacher needs for effective pedagogical practice in a technology-enhanced learning environment. Education is a field where digital content has become increasingly popular as well as necessary. Professionals in this field are rea...

Curator Post

Hey! This is Juan, this week's curator.  For my weekly post I have gathered and created the APA style references of the different resources used along the week. You will find them in the following mind map I have done. On it, you will also see a slight view at the process of the activity.  Click here to see the mind map in its original website

Star(ing) to the finish line

Hii! It is Gema and Elena, the stars of the last week ☹️ First and foremost, if you would like to check our infography, please click here! Throughout this week, the whole group has pitched in to create an infography about the main competences for the Digital World.  To be honest, the presentation didn't go as bad as we initially thought it was going to be, in fact, we managed to explain all the items and our classmates actually understood it very well, which actually pleased us a lot. Actually, it is nice to leave with a nice memory of this week as we have put plenty of effort to our weekly tasks (not just this one). Just in case you are not familiar with this model we let you here a very brief explanation and reflection about what is it and its importance for teachers. Almost all frameworks emphasize the use of technology, restricted to teaching in the conventional classroom, and the ethical and social aspects only from the legal use of technology or security. After reading the do...
